Blue Hen Falls Trail: Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Blue Hen Falls is an easy hiking trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It is one of the shortest, although one of the most scenic, day hikes within the valley. Additionally, this is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in the Cleveland area.
The trail is a short, downhill walk that follows Spring Creek as it spills over sandstone down onto the shale riverbed. It is one of my favorite places for photography, and is a nice spot for a picnic as well.
As this is a small waterfall, it will be best after a heavy rain (the conditions in which these photographs were taken). A short, peaceful trail, Blue Hen Falls invites you to sit on the rocks at its base and listen to the rustling sound of rushing water.
After you've made your peace with the river, you can head over to Beaver Marsh for some wildlife viewing and pretty boardwalk stroll.
Trail Overview:
Difficulty: Easy, kid-friendly
Length: Very short, < 1 mile
Fees: None
